Treasurers and deputies

Who can do what, naming a deputy treasurer, handing over the role, and closing or reopening the fund.

The treasurer creates the fund and can do everything: open rounds, record money, add deputy treasurers, and close or reopen the fund. A deputy treasurer can record money just like the treasurer — open rounds, record entries, change what's due — but can't close the fund or add another deputy.

Making somebody a deputy treasurer

  1. Go to the People tab and tap their name.
  2. Turn on Deputy treasurer.

Only somebody with an account can be made one — a guest with no app has nobody to sign in and record money for them. A fund can have more than one deputy treasurer.

Handing over the treasurer role

Open their name in the People tab and tap the button that makes them treasurer. You become a deputy treasurer and keep recording money as before; the person you handed it to becomes the new treasurer.

Closing and reopening the fund

Only the treasurer can close a fund, from Fund settings. A closed fund can still be viewed and exported but not recorded into; the treasurer can reopen it anytime.
