Account security
Turn on two-step verification with an authenticator app, keep your backup codes, and sign in with fingerprint or Face ID.
Two ways to make your account harder to get into, under Profile → Security. Both are optional.
Before either is added, Confirm it is you asks for the 6-digit code we email you (or, with two-step verification on, the code in your app). Every change is emailed to you; if it was not you, open Security and check at once.
Two-step verification
After the emailed code (or Google), you also enter a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator.
- Tap Turn on two-step verification and enter the code from the email.
- In the authenticator app, scan the QR code (or copy the key below it into the app).
- Type the 6-digit code the app shows and tap Turn on. Your other devices are signed out.
- Keep your 10 backup codes: tap Copy all or Download. They are only shown this once.
A new device asks for the code in the app. Leave Trust this device for 30 days ticked and it will not ask again; untick it on a shared computer.
To turn it off, tap Turn off two-step verification and enter a code from the app or a backup code. Lost both? Send a request through Feedback with the email you sign in with.
Fingerprint / Face ID / screen lock
Sign in by unlocking your device, with no emailed code and no two-step code.
- On the device you want to use, tap Add this device, confirm it is you, and follow your device's prompt.
- Next time, tap Sign in with fingerprint / Face ID, or tap the email field and pick the account your device suggests.
You can Rename or Remove any device in the list.
